Welcome to our home page. For all the latest news, see below.

Latest News:

Unless I get lots of interest soon we will not be doing a team this year.  I do not have the funds to subsidize the team or its riders this year.  I realize the economy is hurting everyone and I will miss all of you terribly!!!!!

We are having a Pet care seminar at the farm on June 15th, starting at 10am.  It is being put on by the Dawson County Humane Society and they will supply lunch after.   We will also be talking with them on how we can help sponsor some adoption opportunities at our IEA meets.  They will be bringing some animals with them on the 15th including puppies and kittens.  It would also be a good time to sign each others yearbooks.   Anyone who comes should try to bring at least 2 friends.....  partly to hear the seminar and partly to try and recruit for the Team.

The yearbooks are ready and can be seen on www.shutterfly.com  with my email address and password horses53 as a login.  I'm ordering for the group who has already requested them but you can go back and order at anytime if you want to.  Shipping is free for over $30.

We need to schedule a meeting to work on the yearbook and select pics for it.  Would anyone like to have it at their house or is the farm the easiest option??  I think it needs to be a sleep over as it may take hours to sort through the pics......  One suggestion,,,, march 19th is a full moon and we might be able to have a bon fire and sleep over and work on this ALLLLLLL  night!

The riders qualified for Regions individually are Lauren Herman in Varsity 2' and Camryn Geiger in Futures Beginners WTC.   The Middle School team qualified and Bailey Cotter will be showing for the Beginner WTC and Hope Lewis will be the alternate.  Brooke Dare will be showing for the team in the Futures Novice Crossrails and Flat.  Get out here and Practice Girls!!!!!!!

I've sent in the entries for the 2/5 and 2/6 shows.  Fees are due by 2/4 PLEASE!!! I could use help on the 4th getting tack cleaned and loaded and horses groomed even if you are not showing.  Keep looking for Sponsor money now that the middle school team is qualified for Regions.  We need to build the account before the end of the year.  Remember WE have to put on a show next year!!   Also I will be out of town from the afternoon of 1/28 till late on the 30th.  Get your lessons in when the weather allows!!!!  I will put more info up about who will be showing at Regions in the next few days.

Next potential shows are feb 5 and 6th

Update on shows... the 15th is running all the flat classes first, then schooling over fences, then jumping classes. This means lower school beginners could be done early and go home,  On the 16th they are alternating jumping, starting with 2'6", with flat.  The little kids would go last again.

Next shows are January 15 and 16 at Chicopee Woods.  Look at the Zone 4 calender for more info.   Any team members who have not had at least 4 lessons between December 1st and that weekend will not be allowed to show.  If there are financial reasons Carol has LOTS of ways to work off the lessons.  But it is not safe for you guys to show this time of year without the consistent work on the horses.   There will be a list in the barn to sign up for one or both of these Meets.

Carol will be out of town the 17th thru the 19th of December and I am having surgery on my hand Dec. 28th .  I will be available for lessons on the 30th... weather permitting!

I need money for the Dec. 4th show if you are going!  I will only be here Monday and Tuesday and then back for lessons on Sunday.

We took in $80 last weekend at the Fund Raiser at BB's Bagels!!!  Everyone be sure to thank Sophia and her mom, Sarah, when you get the chance for all the work they put into it!  Oh, and Ace needs a few extra carrots for his help!

Change in scheduled shows:  Going to the Bluecreek show with just 3 upper school kids and then the Huntcliff show at Hilmar on Nov. 14th with both upper and lower school kids.  The one on the 13th was only high school so I nixed it.  Need commitments this weekend while we are together at Chicopee.

We now have our Team "Active" status!   Finally.   We will be going to the shows at Chicopee Woods on Oct. 30 and 31st.  You have the option of showing either day or both.  I want to know by this Sunday what you want to do!  I think we need a Meeting  next wed evening.... Can everyone attend?

We got a donation for our jackets so they have been ordered!

There is a change on the date for the show we will Co-Host.  We have to do it at a show in our region so we will be doing the Millcreek show at Chicopee Woods on Oct 30.  And then we are competing at the Rivendale show, also at Chicopee, the next day,  Oct 31st.  Its going to be a LONG weekend guys!

Next Meeting will by August 21st at the Farm.  Spread the word to any interested friends at school! I think we will try for an afternoon meeting,  around 2pm.    Lauren Herman will be going over her notes from the Clinics at Amanda Garners' this summer.  We will pick Team Captains and pick out the jackets you want for the team to send to a potential sponsor for approval.  Need to get all your sizes too.

Update for Meeting.... because of the heat index today the meeting will be held in the house at the farm.   There will still be some munchies and drinks.

First Team Meeting for the 2010-2011 year will be July24th at 7pm under the oak trees at Unicorn Valley Farm with a bonfire and cook out. (rain date on the 25th if it looks to be better)  Forms for team membership will be available.  Please bring any interested friends and your parents if they would like to come.  We can arrange rafting down the Etowah before the meeting if it's still hot enough.  We need to vote on Team Captains and find some dedicated Team Moms!!  Quite a few early shows have already been scheduled by various regions so we need to get memberships in early to be eligible to compete.  Please RSVP to Carol at unicornvalley53@windstream.net if you are coming.  I will schedule another meeting the middle of August for those who can't make this one. The membership forms can be downloaded  from the Zone 4 website on the left. Looking forward to another fun year!

All kids going to Nationals with me need to meet me at the McDonalds at 53 and 400 at 7am Saturday morning.  Bring $5 for pizza and money for your lunch and a bathing suit in case the hotel has a pool!  I'll bring my hairdryer in case its needed.  Rain is prodicted so bring a rain coat and hat.

There will be a small dressage clinic at Unicorn Valley this Tuesday, April 6th starting around 2pm.  I will supply the horses.  Susan Dye will be the Instructor.  You can watch Susan on the video page with Ashe and Jacque.  We will have a cook out and bonfire after. The fee will be $20 per rider and $10 just to watch and listen.   Call me for more info

We have reservations at the Hawthorne Suits Hotel, which is half a mile from the Conyers Horse park, for saturday night of the Nationals.  It is two bedrooms connected by living room and full kitchen (two bathrooms too!)  Hot breakfast buffet in morning.  Price is $160 so if all the kids going come up with $15 to $20 that should cover it.   That will be April 24 and 25 spent at Nationals as volunteer workers.  Please let me know as soon as possible who would like to go!

Terra and Skye have qualified for regions,  both in their flat class.  Region 2 finals are Feb. 27th at Hilmar farm.  Dawson County has volunteered for Scorekeeping duties but since I am having to help the two girls who are showing I need a mother who will do it when I am busy (its not anything complicated)  All teams are expected to help with clean up also.  Please let me know who can come and if you still want to stay over the night before.   Also unless anyone objects I am going to make it a policy that the team pays for entry fees for anyone qualifying for regions, zones or nationals.  The fee for regions and zones is $50 per class.  I think the kids should be rewarded for their efforts not penalized!  We still need to work on donations and money making ideas for this spring.

We are going to the Feb. 7th show in Cumming,
GA. Partly to try and get a couple members qualified for region finals and a couple kids are just having too much fun!  Deadline is Feb2,  I'm sending off forms and money tomorrow,  Thursday.  The person in charge says we have no problem getting in.  LAST SHOW of the season unless we qualify as a team for regions.  We still have a chance.  Everybody did GREAT last weekend at Chickopee Woods.

We made it into the region 1 show at Chickopee Woods on Jan. 24th!  AND they rented the large covered arena... YEAH!  Riders going are: Abby U., Brooke, Camryn, Kayla, Skye and Morgan.  We are bringing the required two horses and they are leasing two more which will help pay the stall fees for the year I was going to divide up.  There is still a show listed Feb. 6th in our region in Canton but the prize list is not up for details yet if there is any interest.  I think we need a team meeting around the 16th.  If someone would like to host it let me know.  I would like all CD of team photos brought to me so we can put together our first year book.  I also have info on USEF offering a lettering option for team members on farm teams.  And some info on hosting a show.....  South Forsyth made $4,000 on their show at Stephanie's barn!   We need to get ready!

Need show fees for Jan. 24 show by Dec. 30th!!!!

We are going to Amanda Garners tomorrow for the riding clinic,  leaving farm at 12:30 to be ready to start at 1pm.  Dress Warm!!!

The LAST available show for team to attend will be Jan. 24th at Chickopee Woods again.  It is put on by Holy Innocents, MS and HS.  They are Region 1 so we need to get in entries by Dec 31st  which will get them there the first day open for outside regions.  Closing date is Jan 10th.  There is a possible one Feb 6 at Rising Fawn that is region 2 but they haven't put out a prize list yet and it doesn't say whether both teams would be included.

Be sure to RSVP Linda Umberger about the Christmas Party.

Carol needs to know who is spending the night this Friday before the Dec. 12th show.  Someone needs to arrange dinner and breakfast again too.

We have two new Sponsors:   Harris Family Dentistry and Chestatee Emergency Medical Care Clinic have both donated $50!   Thanks!!

Christmas Party Will be at Linda Umberger's house on Sunday evening the 13th of December from 5:30 to 8:00pm.  Team members, parents, boyfriends (If I like them LOL) and potential friends who would like to join the team next year are all invited.  Dont forget to bring your gift that you drew names for.

December 5th show has been moved to Chicopee Woods Agricultural center in Gainesville (with stalls and covered arena,  AND electicity.... bring heaters and air dryers and electric blankets and radio!)  Scarfs to wear right up to show time might be a good idea.

We are going to Dec. 12th show,  I can still take money this monday night, the 30th during our Team Meeting/ Seminar with Amanda Garner on equitation.  I'll supply food, Molly Dare is bringing drinks, some kind of desert would be nice.

Need Feed back for the Dec. 12thn show at Hilmar..... 3 members want to go so far.  Money has to be in by Sunday the 29th (THIS SUNDAY) if you are interested.  May not be any other shows till Feb.  WE NEED the meeting on the 30th to decide further shows and draw names for Xmas party!!!!  Communciate with me guys!!!!!  Can't do this alone.... this is YOUR club!

We are definitely going to the Dec. 5th show at Hilmar,  have at least 5 members so far. Mrs. Perry is doing drinks and snacks.  Christmas Party  is definite for early evening on Dec. 13th.   Lets draw names for who brings a xmas present to who at our next meeting.   Is everyone in town for a meeting Monday the 30th?

Great show today for the middle school team... all the members showed!  Next show is Dec. 5th,   Saturday at the same place (Hilmar Farms).  Show fees need to be in before Monday , Nov. 23 .  The deadline is the 27th.  It is a both middle and upper school show.  We need to schedule a club meeting before the Dec. 5 show to decide on future shows.  Also Linda Umberger is hosting a Christmas Party for the club hopefully Sunday ,  Dec. 13th.  Keep track of future postings for this!

The new team mom for the upper school is Crystal Picklesimer,  the mom for the middle school team is Debbie Pruitt.  feel free to email them about organizing snacks for shows and more fund raisers.

We had a great Car Wash!!!  Made $244.35  in 3 hours!!!  Thanks so much to Mr. Pruitt for the pressure washer and the Picklesimers for hauling in the horses.  You all worked really hard and we had a great time!

If you get a chance stop by Spectacular Boutique and thank Suzanne the doctor for becoming a sponsor and giving the team $200

We are going to the middle school show at Hilmar on Nov. 15th,  need money by Nov. 3rd.

New show avaiilable on the Calender at Hilmar. Saturday  Dec. 5th,  high school and middle school. In our region.  Deadline is Nov. 26

The next show will be Nov. 1st at Hilmar Farms,  You can find it on the Zone 4website.  It will be a larger show so we need to get entrees in on time!!!       You need to have your show clothes by this show!  I NEED ENTRY FEES BY FRIDAY!  HAVE TO GO IN THE MAIL FOR THE MONDAY DEADLINE.

Another possible show for the middle team is also at Hilmar on Nov 15th.  ONLY middle team.  Not our region so entries would have to go in on 11/3 to get a spot.

Reminder on Show Clothes.... your hair needs to be up under your helmet or in a pony tail net.  You can buy them at the tack shops.  Gloves will be a good investment.  Numb fingers have trouble holding reins!!!!  Alyssa also says that at the bigger shows lack of gloves may loose you a place if it comes down to picking the best turned out rider!!!

Galaxy,  one of our school horses, was nominated as a potential horse for Nationals!!!

For anyone who hadn't heard yet Skye got a first in her flat class at the meet last weekend,  Amber got a 4th and 5th and Abbie did her best with a tempermental draft cross mare!
